2027 unit information

This unit continues to explore the socio-cultural perspective of health developed in Health 1, looking specifically at how Australian young people understand and experience health in varied ways. The unit explores a range of health-related issues from the 7-10 NSW PDHPE syllabus: mental health, alcohol and drug use, sexual health, gender and sexuality, road, water, fire and sun safety, food and nutrition education, the benefits of physical activity, and consent and relationships. Diverse approaches and pedagogies are explored and practiced, all of which support a strength-based approach to teaching health, and develop skills in critical media and health literacy.
