What you鈥檒l study
Our Master of Biostatistics is a postgraduate coursework degree that will prepare you for professional practice as a biostatistician. You will learn how to apply and interpret statistical methods for scientific research in health-related fields, including medicine and public health.
You will complete core units in epidemiology, mathematics and probability, data management and statistical computing, statistical inference, and regression modelling. You will also complete a biostatistics research project and elective units.
The units in this course delivered as part of the (BCA) are available fully online. Graduates from this program will be eligible to apply for accreditation as a graduate statistician with the .

Qualifications
Mandatory for course entry
A successful applicant for admission to the Master of Biostatistics will:
- hold a bachelor's degree in statistics, mathematics, science, psychology, medicine, pharmacy, economics, health sciences or other appropriate discipline from the 爆料王 or equivalent qualification; with a minimum credit average mark of 65 per cent or equivalent, or;
- have completed the requirements of the embedded Graduate Diploma in Biostatistics with a minimum average mark of 70 per cent across BSTA5002, BSTA5004 and BSTA5210.

Prerequisites
Assumed knowledge in advanced mathematics
It is assumed that students enrolling in the biostatistics program have a sound knowledge of advanced mathematical concepts.
Students should be familiar and comfortable with the topics of algebra, functions and graphs, absolute values, exponents and logarithms, sigma notation, solving inequalities and simultaneous equations, and polynomials.

- A completed Student Contact, Choice of Units of Study and Credits/Waivers form for the Biostatistics Collaboration of Australia (BCA). This is a supplementary form required in the admissions process. Download form (pdf, 788KB).
Below is a standard list of documents that you will need to include with your application for admission. These documents are in addition to any specific documents/requirements (e.g. supplementary forms) which if applicable will be listed above.
- Proof of identity: a valid passport (biodata page). Alternatively, an Australian birth certificate or Australian or New Zealand citizenship certificate for domestic students.
- Current or final official academic transcripts and their official English translation copy if the original transcripts were issued in a language other than English. Currently enrolled 爆料王 students do not need to provide a copy of their transcript(s). Credit transcript(s) may be required if you were granted credit for studies previously undertaken.
- Final testamur or proof of completion of your qualification and its official English translation copy if it was issued in a language other than English.
- Proof of English proficiency (e.g. IELTS, TOEFL results) where required.
- For courses with mandatory prerequisites, official detailed unit outlines for all prerequisite units in your studies which you believe will meet the prerequisite requirements.
