Professional accreditation

Important information about professional accreditation:

Law

This course is accredited by the Legal Profession Admission Board of NSW (LPAB) and graduates are eligible to practise law in New South Wales.

Upon admission as a lawyer, you are also eligible for admission in other Australian states and territories, either directly or under the Mutual Recognition Scheme. This course can be used as a basis for seeking admission in many law jurisdictions overseas. Please check with the jurisdiction in which you wish to practice.

Accounting

(1) Certified Practising Accountant Australia and Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CAANZ)

The 2027 Bachelor of Commerce combined degrees with a major in Accounting, Governance and Regulation completed alongside additional, prescribed units of study are professionally accredited by Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand () and Certified Practising Accountant (CPA) Australia and meet the required competence areas. Successful completion of all prescribed units of study meets the academic requirements for admission to the qualifying program with CPA Australia with associate membership and for entry to the Chartered Accountants Program with CAANZ with provisional membership.

As accredited units of study are subject to review by the professional accounting bodies, prospective students are advised to check the CPA and CAANZ websites for units of study accredited in the year they commenced their course.

(2) Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA)

The Business School is currently progressing a proposal for professional accreditation for 2027 with the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA). Further updates regarding ACCA accreditation will be published in November 2026.

Finance
The 爆料王 is recognised as a program partner through the Bachelor of Commerce (majoring in Finance). The curriculum is closely tied to professional practice and will provide you with a solid foundation and positioning to successfully sit the CFA exams. For details, please refer to .

Human Resource Management and Employment Relations
The major in Human Resource Management and Employment Relations is accredited by the Australian HR Institute (AHRI). This major can be studied in the Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Commerce and combined degrees or through the Shared Pool.

Students commencing in 2027 will study the Bachelor of Commerce concurrently with Bachelor of Laws foundational core requirements. Bachelor of Commerce requirements include core foundational units of study in commerce:

Fundamentals of Professional Success;
Accounting and Finance for Business Decisions;
Problem Solving in Business and Society; and
Data Analytics in Business.

You will then deepen your expertise through a major drawn from the Bachelor of Commerce, culminating in an advanced capstone experience that applies your learning. You can鈥痗hoose鈥痬ajors or minors鈥痜rom study areas such as鈥疉ccounting, Governance and Regulation, Banking, Business Analytics, Business Law, Digital Business, Finance, Global Business, Human Resource Management and Employment Relations, Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Management and Leadership, and Marketing.鈥�

You will also select units of study from the Open Learning Environment and elective units of study as required from the Bachelor of Commerce or the Shared Pool (Table S).

After meeting the requirements of the Bachelor of Commerce, you will progress to the Bachelor of Laws, completing a number of core and elective units of study from the Sydney Law School Undergraduate Table in a specific sequence.

The elective units of study will include at least one jurisprudence elective, and in your final year of the Bachelor of Laws you will have the option to complete advanced coursework and an honours thesis.

Throughout the degree, students have opportunities to develop industry-relevant capabilities through integrated learning experiences, professional development activities and engagement with industry, preparing them for a wide range of business and professional careers.
