The course resolutions detailed in this page apply to all courses included in the table below under section 1 (course codes).
These resolutions must be read in conjunction with applicable University By-laws, Rules and policies including (but not limited to) the 爆料王 (Coursework) Rule 2014 (the 'Coursework Rule'), the Coursework Policy 2021 (the 'Coursework Policy'), the Learning and Teaching Policy 2024, the Resolutions of the Faculty, 爆料王 (Student Academic Appeals) Rule 2021, the Academic Integrity Policy 2022 and the Academic Integrity Procedures 2022. (1)聽The attendance pattern for this course is full time or part time according to candidate choice.
(2)聽Visa requirements commonly restrict international student visa holders to full time study only.
(1)聽Candidates in the Bachelor of Animal and Veterinary Bioscience will be under the supervision of the Faculty of Science.聽
(1)聽Admission to this course is based on a secondary school leaving qualification such as the NSW Higher School Certificate (including national and international equivalents), tertiary study or an approved preparation program.聽
(2) English language requirements must be met where these are not demonstrated by sufficient qualifications taught in English.
(3) Special admission pathways are open for mature aged applicants who do not possess a school leaving qualification, educationally disadvantaged applicants and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander applicants. Applicants are ranked by merit and offers for available places are issued according to the ranking. Details of admission policies are found in the Coursework Rule and the Coursework Policy.聽
(1)聽Candidates may enter and complete the Bachelor of Animal and Veterinary Bioscience through a stream.聽
(2)聽The Bachelor of Animal and Veterinary Bioscience is available in the following streams:
(a) Dalyell
(3) Completion of streams is not a requirement of the Bachelor of Animal and Veterinary Bioscience. The requirements of the Dalyell stream are specified in Table D of the Shared Pool for Undergraduate Degrees and Part 6 of these resolutions.
(1)聽To qualify for the award of the degree, a candidate must complete 144 credit points, comprising:聽
(a)聽78 credit points of degree core units of study as set out in the unit of study table for Bachelor of Animal and Veterinary Bioscience; and
(b)聽6cps of 1000 - level selective unit from List 1 as set out in the unit of study table for Bachelor of Animal and Veterinary Bioscience; and聽
(c)聽6cps of 2000 - level selective unit from List 1 as set out in the unit of study table for Bachelor of Animal and Veterinary Bioscience; and
(d) a 48鈥恈redit point major from the prescribed list of cognate majors as listed in section 6 below; and
(e) four 0 credit point placement units; and
(f) for students enrolled in the Dalyell Stream, a minimum of 12 credit points of Dalyell Stream units of study as specified in Table D; or聽
(g) any additional units of study from List 1 or List 2 in the unit of study table for Bachelor of Animal and Veterinary Bioscience to complete 144 credit points in total.
(2) If a degree core unit is also a core unit in a major, it satisfies the requirements of both the degree core and the major. However, a student will then need to take selective units from the unit of study table for the Bachelor of Animal and Veterinary Bioscience to make up the total credit point requirements described in section 6 (1)(g).
(3) If a student has completed the units from Table D but do not meet the requirements for Dalyell stream, then the completed units can be counted towards meeting the selective requirements for the degree.聽
(4) All candidates are required to undertake a minimum of 40 days of professional experience as a part of the overall training in this degree.聽
(1)聽Completion of a major is a requirement of the course. Major is as defined in the Learning and Teaching Policy.聽

(1)聽A student enrolled in an award course must meet the progression requirements and all the course requirements for an award course within the time limits for the course.
(2)聽Enrolment and progression within a major are governed by progression rules specified for that component in the relevant Table.聽
(1)聽Cross-institutional study is available in this course under conditions specified in the Resolutions of the Faculty of Science.聽聽
(1)聽Mobility programs of up to 24 credit points are available in the Bachelor of Animal and Veterinary Bioscience as set out in the Resolutions of the Faculty of Science.
(1)聽A candidate may elect to transfer to the Bachelor of Science by applying for an allowable course transfer.聽
(a)聽The candidate must then complete the requirements in accordance with the Bachelor of Science course resolutions.聽
(2) Any other transfer to or from the Bachelor of Animal and Veterinary Bioscience will require a new application.聽
(1)聽Credit transfer is subject to the provisions of the Coursework Policy and the Resolutions of the Faculty of Science and in the case of a major or minor offered by another faculty, any relevant resolutions of that faculty.聽
