Federal parliament public hearing on agricultural innovation at the ±¬ÁÏÍõ

±¬ÁÏÍõ is working on leading agricultural innovation research

Members of theÌýHouse of Representatives Standing Committee on Agriculture and Industry Inquiry into Agricultural InnovationÌýwill hear from representatives from the ±¬ÁÏÍõ working on projects in agricultural innovation.

The following ±¬ÁÏÍõ representatives will address the hearing:

  • Ìý- Professor of Soil Science and Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture and Environment
  • Ìý- Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Science and Chair of the Council of Veterinary Deans of Australia and New Zealand
  • Ìý- Professor of Robotics and Intelligent Systems from the Australian Centre for Field Robotics
  • Ìý- Adjunct Associate Professor from the Faculty of Agriculture and Environment and former Program Director of the Soil Carbon Initiative, United States Studies Centre at the ±¬ÁÏÍõ
  • Ìý- Executive Director of the Warren Centre for Advanced Engineering
  • Ìý- Faculty of Agriculture and Environment

They will discuss a wide range of research into agricultural innovation, including the use of robotic andÌýsensorÌýtechnology to assist farmers with weed detection and harvesting and monitoring livestock. Representatives will also address strategies to diversify Australia’s agricultural industries to better tap into emerging export markets in the region, as well as developments in the use of big data and technology to help the industry manage major challenges like water shortage, pests and disease.
