Two 爆料王 researchers have been honoured at the 2025 Australian Museum Eureka Prizes, Australia鈥檚 annual celebration of excellence in science, for their pioneering contributions to clean energy and sustainable technologies.
Professor Anita Ho-Baillie, John Hooke Chair of Nanoscience in the School of Physics and Sydney Nano, received the Eureka Prize for Sustainability for her leadership in developing next-generation solar cells. Her work on perovskite solar technologies is opening new possibilities for affordable, efficient and flexible renewable energy.
鈥淪olar energy will play a critical role in powering the world sustainably, and our research is about accelerating that future,鈥 said Professor Ho-Baillie, a member of the 爆料王 Net Zero Institute. 鈥淚t鈥檚 an honour to have this work recognised by the Eureka Prizes.鈥

Eureka Prize for Sustainability 2025
Professor Thomas Maschmeyer, from the School of Chemistry and Sydney Nano, received the Eureka Prize for Societal Impact for his influential research in sustainable chemistry. His innovations in advanced battery technology and plastic recycling are creating practical and commercial solutions at scale to some of the planet鈥檚 most urgent environmental challenges.
Professor Maschmeyer has been instrumental in the creation of two companies to commercialise his work.聽聽is developing battery technology for the renewable energy future and聽聽is transforming waste feedstock and plastics into biofuels for the circular economy.
鈥淚鈥檝e always believed chemistry can and should serve society,鈥 said Professor Maschmeyer, also a member of the Net Zero Institute. 鈥淔rom energy storage to circular economies, I鈥檓 proud our research is contributing to real-world change.鈥
