We are committed to supporting students affected by domestic and family violence. If you experience domestic or family violence, we can provide support and help you report the incident if you want to.

Dial triple zero (000)

Dial triple zero (000) for emergency services (fire/ambulance/police). Calling the police is the quickest way to get help in an emergency. To speak to NSW Police about an incident of domestic or family violence, dial triple zero (000) or ask to speak to a Domestic Violence Liaison Officer (DVLO) at your local station.

Notify Campus Security on 9351 3333. Campus Security are available 24 hours a day to assist with an emergency or safety threat.

Deciding what to do next

If you have experienced domestic or family violence, your personal safety and recovery from the trauma is our first priority. The decisions about whether or not to report the violence, and whether or not to leave, are up to you. There are options to increase safety even while experiencing violence.

Talking to someone

If you鈥檙e unsure what steps you want to take you can talk to one of our staff in the Safer Communities Office. They are specialist staff members with expertise in providing support to people that have experienced domestic or family violence, including sexual harm and gender-based violence. They can assist you to access appropriate support services, including security, counselling and health services, and on-campus emergency accommodation as well as assist with any academic needs.

Safer Communities Office staff are available 9 am to 5 pm Monday to Friday, Sydney local time. You can speak to us on the phone or email to make an appointment. Appointments are available via Zoom, phone or face-to-face. Interpreter services are also available upon request.
