Despite the hope generated by the Paris Climate Agreement, the election of Donald Trump as the next US President has cast a pall over the future of meaningful global climate action. Trump鈥檚 stated policies and senior appointments indicate that climate change denial and the interests of the fossil fuel industry have now captured the most powerful political office in the world. This raises the question, where to now for meaningful climate action?
In this special workshop, Sydney Environment Institute brings together prominent intellectuals, commentators and activists to discuss this most important of issues. Featuring a keynote by renowned US climate scientist Professor Michael E. Mann, the workshop will provide an opportunity for frank discussion and collaboration about building a pathway forward in adapting to the聽resurgence of climate change denial and the catastrophic imaginary of 鈥榝ossil fuels forever鈥.
