Engagement Collaborative Grants听Recipients

Associate Professor Melissa Sharpe

a senior researcher in the School of Psychology and the Centre for Psychology and Cognition (CPC), will be collaborating with from the Translational Psychopharmacology team. Their project, 鈥淩evealing how drug cues motivate drug seeking: GABA鈥搊rexin interactions in the lateral hypothalamus,鈥 aims to uncover the neural mechanisms that drive drug鈥憇eeking behaviour.听

Dr Lipin Loo

a senior researcher in the School of Life and Environmental Sciences and the Drug Discovery Initiative (DDI), will collaborate with from the Translational Psychopharmacology team. Their project, 鈥淎 Spatial Multi鈥慜mics Platform: Developing Targeted Therapeutics for Chronic Pain,鈥 seeks to advance precision approaches for chronic pain by integrating cutting鈥慹dge spatial multi鈥憃mics technologies.听

Dr Shaikh Nayeem Faisal

a mid鈥慶areer researcher (MCR) in the School of Biomedical Engineering, will be collaborating with from the Translational Psychopharmacology team. Their project, 鈥淧re鈥慶linical study of a millimetre鈥憇caled wireless all鈥慶eramic opto鈥慹lectronics implantable device for the potential treatment of neuropathic pain using photobiomodulation,鈥 aims to advance next鈥慻eneration, device鈥慴ased therapies for chronic and neuropathic pain.听

Dr Kevin Law

an early鈥慶areer researcher (ECR) in the School of Medical Sciences and the Centre for Psychology and Cognition (CPC), will collaborate with from the Translational Psychopharmacology team. Their project, 鈥淢apping and Characterising the Breathing Centre in the Human Brain,鈥 seeks to deepen understanding of the neural circuits that control respiration.听
