BCom ASPIRE

Choosing a degree is a big decision — especially when you may not know exactly where you want your future to lead. Many students choose commerce for its flexibility and opportunities but aren’t yet sure which career pathway is right for them.

That’s why the ±¬ÁÏÍõ Business School has created BCom ASPIRE, a degree-long co-curricular experience designed to help you build skills, confidence, industry connections and career direction from your very first semester.

BCom ASPIRE is designed to help you navigate, articulate, and respond to the future skill needs of employers and society.

From day one, you’ll be supported to connect your in-class experience with the co-curricular programs and activities available, in order to help you explore what kind of future is right for you.

Throughout your degree, you’ll have opportunities to:

  • connect with employers, mentors and alumni
  • work on real business challenges and industry projects
  • build leadership, teamwork and professional skills
  • access internships, global experiences and networking opportunities
  • create a professional portfolio and employer-recognised Skills Passport
  • receive timely and tailored career support
  • explore future pathways using AI-powered career tools

Unlike traditional university programs that focus mainly on academics, this experience is designed to help you graduate with more than a qualification.

You’ll graduate with:

  • practical experience
  • a professional network (connections to alumni and industry)
  • evidence of your skills and achievements (a portfolio of industry relevant and future-focused skills and experiences)
  • greater confidence in your career direction

The BCom ASPIRE experience evolves as you progress through your degree.

In first year, the focus is on exploring careers, building confidence and helping you transition successfully into university life.

By second and third year, you’ll be able to tailor your experience through internships, mentoring, leadership opportunities, entrepreneurial programs, global experiences and industry-connected projects aligned to your interests and goals.

You have the opportunity to curate your learning journey with experiences that are practical and connected to the world of work.

Business School (Honours)

The Business School Honours Program is an additional year of intensive study that students with a superior academic record may undertake upon completion of their undergraduate degree. The program aims to produce Honours graduates who are highly motivated, organised and demonstrate superior initiative.

Currently enrolled students can find Business School honours program information and application guidelines at the current students honours page.

Students who commence a Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Advanced Studies before Semester 1 2025 may be eligible to apply for an appended honours year in the Bachelor of Advanced Studies (Honours). This and other honours options will be communicated to potential candidates during your studies.

If you have already completed a Bachelor degree and would like to undertake Honours, entry may be permitted if you commenced your undergraduate study less than ten years ago, subject to other requirements for entry.

If Honours is not an option but you are interested in higher degree research study, you may want to consider the Master of Philosophy.
