Authorising documents for DFAT
If you are providing documents such as your academic transcript or degree certificate (testamur) to the they will first need to be signed by an authorised staff member here at the University.
Only the following documents can be authorised:
- official academic transcripts
- degree certificates (testamur).
Other documents must be notarised by an聽.
We are only able to authenticate modern degree certificates (testamurs) that have a University seal and printed signatures. If you have an older version of testamur, you'll need to聽order a replacement聽for it to be authenticated.
Send your documents in the mail
If you would like your documents authenticated for DFAT, please send the following to our mailing address below.
- original documents (DFAT no longer accepts photocopies)
- stamped self-addressed envelope
- cover letter with the following information
- your email address and contact number (so we can confirm when your documents have been delivered)
- list of the document/s you wish to have authorised

Legalising documents for use overseas
Australian documents being used overseas sometimes need additional government legalisation to ensure that they meet the requirements of foreign governments. DFAT provides an聽聽for this purpose.
