Processing time

Applications generally take up to eight weeks to be assessed, however, during busy periods it may take longer (e.g. in the weeks leading up to the start of semester).

Assessment time depends on:

 • the complexity of your application
 • the availability of academic staff to review your unit outlines
 • the volume of applications received.

Current students

In most cases if you submitted your application by the application deadline, it will be processed in time for the start of the semester.

Applicants for admission

If you applied for credit as part of your course application, we will assess your credit after a decision is made on your course application. Applications for the upcoming semester will be prioritised.

_self

Resubmitting your application will restart the processing time. If you withdraw, you'll have to submit a new application, and the processing time will also restart.

If your application status doesn鈥檛 change during this time, don鈥檛 resubmit or withdraw your application

Enrolling while you wait for an outcome

If enrolment is open and you're waiting for the outcome of your credit application, most students should still enrol and select units of study.

It's important that you've selected your units of study by the last day to add and are attending classes in case your application is not finalised in time.

As credit is not guaranteed until you have received an offer from the University, you need to enrol in units of study you can continue studying if your application is unsuccessful.

If your credit application is completed after the last day to add, you can still withdraw from units without academic or financial penalty until the census date for your session.

Accepting an offer of admission

When we assess your credit application

If you applied directly to the University or submitted an internal course application, we will assess your credit application after your admission outcome has been finalised.

When to accept your admissions offer

In most cases, you will need to wait until your credit application has been assessed before accepting your admission offer.

If you would like to accept your offer and enrol before your credit assessment is completed, contact us using the form.

We will either:

 • issue credit for any units that can be assessed at that time, or
 • withdraw your credit application so you can proceed with accepting your admission offer.

Once enrolled, you can apply for credit as a current student for any remaining units.
